No Something. No Another Thing. No Something Else.

Representing 93.9 Percent

Posted by BigDummyKenny on May 31, 2011

Every once in awhile I look at the stats on the blog to see where people are coming from and what webpages are getting the most action or I’ll check out the latest wordpress themes and features. One day while looking at some of the features I found that voting for individual articles and comments could be turned on. So I did just that. I thought it would be interesting to see if the negative bias exhibited on a certain website against certain people would show on comments made here. What I didn’t expect was the results of where the responses would come.

The outcome was quite interesting, for of the 588 negative comments received, 93.9% were from 4 ip addresses in 2 countries! On two of the early posts included in the results, 100% of the negative comments came from a single ip address. Once it was discovered that a person could vote more than once the count of negative votes accelerated.

The votes were not restricted to down votes though. There were a number of up votes supporting a couple specific individual’s comments. A tally of the 251 up votes show that 107 of these up votes (42.8%) were from 3 of the same 4 ip addresses that accounted for the 588 negative votes.

Throwing out the votes from these 4 ip addresses, you have 38 down votes and 144 up votes. The most votes coming from any 1 ip address in this group was 7. Generally speaking, approximately 74% of the votes across all comments were up votes.

As for the persons representing the 93.9 percent of the down votes, I can’t say I’m surprised. It indicates an unhealthy obsession that they feel must be expressed through the clicking of a mouse button, again, and again, and again. We here at BDK wonder how that’s working out for them and hope they are able to work through their personal issues.

Strangely, since BDK announced that this was an experiment and the results would be announced shortly, the number of votes from 2 of the 4 ip addresses has dropped to zero.

In case there’s any speculation by the dolt running this blog (dafny), it wasn’t me. I am not a hater and have no interest in this insignificant ash bin.
